Hi.Im James Helmandollar

I was born and raised in virginia ,and now live in west virginia .im a painter by trade which I enjoy doing also.

And I love writing poems from the heart.I also do funny poems and short storys, but my favorite is love poems. I started writing when I was 10 years old and been writing on and off ever since. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.most my poems are about loved ones and life .

    I appreciate all the comments I have had regarding my poems. And I think I need to tell you all a little about my life. Then you will know why I write the poems I do, and you will have a better understanding of what inspires me
   I was born in Virginia, and I was one of eight kids. Our parents were so loving, and they made a lot of sacrifices,to take care of eight children. My mother was, and still is an amazing woman. And my father passed away almost ten years ago, but he was an extraordinary man. I have to say he gave me a good example to follow.
   Now, I guess you would like to know how I got into writing poetry. Well, I was in the fifth grade,and my english teacher gave us an assignment to write a poem. There was 32 students in my class, and we all wrote a poem. When our teacher reviewed, and graded the poems, she singled mine out, to my surprise. She was so impressed, that she put the poem on the bulletin board in the hallway for everyone to see. You can imagine how I felt as a 10 year old child. That is when my passion started to grow for poetry.
   Now to bring my life up to date, I have been married three time. And as you may know, you can experience a lot during those times. There was good times, ofcourse but also there was heartache and sad times. That is what has inspired me to write a lot of my poems. But the main inspiration I have now is the lady I am with now. Her name is Jackie. She is the love of my life, and it is so easy to write love poems from the heart to her.
